The Philosophy of the Dance Studio is to provide students of all ages a caring atmosphere in which they can learn and grow as individuals as well as artists.
Gain confidence, poise, and a love and understanding of the art of dance. Serious students will be encouraged to prepare for their Cecchetti ballet exams. These are externally examined by the Cecchetti Society of Canada who have international recognition and are committed to the highest standards of training for dancers and teachers.
There are so many benefits of dancing! Improve your muscle tone, strength, posture, flexibility, coordination and weight management. An elegant carriage of the body and self-confidence emerge through the art of dance. The dance experience becomes an outlet for creativity and a way to express oneself.
We strive to create an atmosphere that is loving, respectful, challenging and enjoyable for all. Everyone is given personal attention and is made to feel at home.

COSTUMES & PERFORMANCES
Recitals
Our annual dance rehearsals and recitals will be held during the first weekend in June. Location to be announced at a later date. A costume fee is required and will be added to your Term 2 payment. This fee is required in order to participate in the recital. A balance may be due upon receipt of the costume. Costume deposits are non-refundable.
Attendance
Regular attendance and participation is required by all students. A student’s personal progress as well as class performance is a reflection of proper attendance. All students are encouraged to progress at their own abilities. The more classes taken, the faster the progress. You will be notified if your child is ready to be tested and move into the next level. Class placement will be decided by the teacher.
Exams
Most tap, ballet and jazz classes are based on an educational graded dance system of instructions with frequent exam sessions to show accomplishments. ONLY A TEACHER CAN DETERMINE IF YOUR CHILD IS READY TO TAKE AN EXAM. Students will be notified if eligible, and a fee will apply. All examinations take place in the spring.

Dear Families and Dancers,
We are excited to start registration for the 2022-2023 season!
As always, your safety and health is our number one concern so please be assured that rooms are sanitized regularly, we have large HEPA UV air filtration units in all dance studios; washrooms are auto flush and have automatic sinks; water refill stations for your water bottles are touchless as well. Our studios are large so everyone has space to safely distance from each other and we have hand sanitizing stations throughout the building.
Sincerely,
The Dance Studio
Parent Testimonials
“My family has been with the Dance Studio at Académie Ste-Cécile for over a decade. In this time, I’ve found that the dance teachers at the studio are nurturing, highly qualified, and create a positive environment that allows for the students’ confidence to flourish as they develop their skills as dancers. The attention to detail and discipline instilled in the students through their dance lessons are skills that are applicable to any path in life. The teachers at the studio have taught the students in a way that allows for confidence to grow. Additionally, the studio’s organization for events such as recitals makes it fun to participate. Overall, the Dance Studio of Académie Ste-Cécile is a positive environment and acts as a second home to my two daughters.” – S. DeVries
“Our three daughters took ballet lessons at Académie Ste-Cécile from 1998 to 2018 and we have nothing but positive things to say about our experiences. We loved how their passion for dance and music was nurtured in a very fun and supportive atmosphere. We appreciated how the teachers cared about proper technique and anatomical alignment such that every student progressed safely. Most of all, our daughters learned life skills – to make a commitment, to be on time, and to carry themselves with poise and confidence.” – D. Pallisco
