Melissa started playing the violin at age 4. She studied at Académie Ste-Cécile with Bruce Rutter, and went on to compete in Kiwanis and Ste-Cécile music competitions. She then joined the Junior Windsor Strings Orchestra where they travelled, played concerts and had the opportunity to play with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra.

Melissa taught private lessons at Lakeview Montessori School and continues to teach the Suzuki method to beginner violinists.
